Well, Tallyn is now as he says it "double digits". His party will be next weekend. His birthday fell on Thanksgiving weekend so we planned the party for then. We had planned on going to the skate park today with a few other boys but the wind is so bad there is no way they could skate in it.
His birthday dinner was German Hamburgers ( I can't spell the actual name of it!!), pea salad and pumpkin pie, what a combination. He has me make pea salad every chance he gets. I do have battle wounds from cooking. I cooked on one of the pampered chef trays with the metal stand. After I had taken the hamburgers out of the oven I went to move the tray without potholders and grabbed the metal tray. CRAP!! It hurt so bad. The kids thought it was so funny I had to eat using my ring finger and pinkie. I burned three fingers on each hand. Smart huh!

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year. We went to Panhandle first to see Mom, Jimmy, Autumn, Jason and the girls. Then drove to Dumas to see all of Jeff's family. The new edition to the family was not able to make it :(. It was great to see everyone.
That evening the kids went back to stay with Granny. Jeff and I stayed in Dumas and spent some time with some old high school friends. I finally got to see Tiff this trip. I really miss her. I hope it's not another 2 years before we get together.
Dustin, my little brother, left for Iraq. Please keep him and every other person defending our country in your prayers. I am so proud of him.
I did not take many pictures this trip. Ok, I did not take any. I did get a few on the car ride home so this is the best I can do. I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving....

These are two of my favorite pictures

Basketball season is here!!!!!!

So Tallyn's coach gave the team a little talk the other day at practice. We had our round robin games last week almost the whole team looked like they were twitching the entire game. So they were all given a week to get haircuts. Tallyn was not as upset as I thought he would be. In his words "Who would choose to have long hair over playing basketball?" He was not willing to go super short so we had to go short enough to stay out of his eyes. He is hoping if he lets it grow for the full year in between seasons it will be long enough for a ponytail next year. I could care less, hair is one battle I can go without fighting. Plus, I like him and Reb both with long hair.

I will keep you posted on the games. Season starts in December 4th. He did make the A team. The first round robin was a tie game 14-14. Tallyn made 6 points but he was more excited about the steals he did. The second game was 18-16 them. He scored 9 points, missed 2 free throws and did a great job rebounding. Now that team will be able to see they will be amazing.

Voyage Ministries

I just added a link on my blog list (Dave). He is a guy that came to our bible study the other day. I had heard of him and knew he taught several classes at church but had not met him. He had so much to say and later he told me about his blog. I added it because it is worth reading. He is teaching a class on Revelations in December and Jeff and I plan to go. That is one book that kinda scares me to study so we will see. Anyway I hope you give it a chance and read it...he updates regularly.
Here are a few pictures. Tallyn was not in a good mood so it made for a hard day.

Women of Faith 2008

I had an amazing weekend at Women of Faith Conference this weekend. This was my first one to attend and I hope there will be many more to come. I went with our pastor's wife and a few other girls from our Monday group. It was a little strange because I was the only one under the age of 55. What does age matter...we had a blast!

I saw a girl, Kassie, that Jeff and I went to HS with. It was nice to see a familiar face in such a big group of ladies. I hope we will be able to stay in touch.

I hope to have family pictures up soon. We should have them taken tomorrow as long as Ellie is feeling better. She has had a cough the last couple of days.

Rebel's 13

OK, so now I have a teenager!! He is fitting title pretty good already. On his birthday he just wanted to go watch some horror movie with a few friends then go to the skating rink (I hear to meet up with girls). He said he had fun but of course he said it without an ounce of emotion.

When we had family birthday night he asked for cherry cheesecake instead of the typical birthday cake and chicken cordon blue. Jeff was happy last year he picked salmon and Jeff hates fish.

He has set a record....all his birthday money is still in his wallet!!!! He can't decide what to spend it on. We all know he can't save it!

There you have it....Rebel is 13....GASP!!!!!!
